Are you crazy about trying new free apps on Apple App Store? Do you find it really irritating to type your password every time when you intend to get a free app? Or as an old iPhone user, you must have been used to getting free apps within one click.
But why on earth do you have to enter the password after clicking "download" all the time?! I have a similar problem. I just bought an iPad Air 4 Now I have to enter my password for every app in the App Store, even the free ones.
I want to have to enter my password for paid apps and just nothing for free apps. Nov 13, AM. I am facing the same issue on my Ipad Air 4 which under No option to disable under "require password" for free download in Apple ID section.
I think have to live with it. Nov 23, PM. Nov 27, PM. Dec 18, AM in response to anneke In response to anneke I have the same exact problem.. I am guessing it is a bug in iPadOS It still works properly in iOS Dec 18, AM. Dec 18, AM in response to n3ntjmatt In response to n3ntjmatt.
I think I solved the problem.. Apple, in its 'infinite wisdom' has turned off the feature to anything by "immediate" if you have the TouchID option activated in iPadOS If you turn it off and only use a passcode, all of the prior options immediately, every hour, every 4 hours, etc.
Turn TouchID back on, and only "immediately" is the only option. Thankfully, Apple has heard our laments and addressed the problem with the latest update to iOS 8. Additionally, more control has been granted when it comes to paid apps and in-app purchases. Now, you can give the App Store a minute grace period with your password, making bulk buyings a breeze.
